Division of Air Pollution and Its Control

The Division of Air Pollution and Its Control is aimed at addressing urgent atmospheric environmental problems in China and contributing to the international scientific frontier of air pollution control, to support the improvement of air quality and the co-control of greenhouse gas emissions. The Division carries out cutting-edge scientific research and talent training on subjects including the characteristics of complex regional air pollution, the emission, transport and transformation of air pollutants, the health and ecological effects, and the control technologies and policies.

The Division has 22 faculty members, with 9 professors. More than 20 courses are offered by the Division to students of both undergraduate and graduate levels. The Division oversees the National Engineering Research Center for Synergetic Control of Air Pollutants and Greenhouse Gases and the State Environmental Protection Key Laboratory of Sources and Control of Air Pollution Complex. It is also a vital part of the State Key Joint Laboratory of Environmental Simulation and Pollution Control.

The Division has been a major innovator in scientific findings, technologies, and policies to meet the national needs and strategies. It has received six national-level science and technology awards and more than ten provincial-level science and technology awards.
