High-Level Discussion by Indonesian Students

Tsinghua University Indonesian Student Association or THUISA was founded in 2012. Open for all Indonesian students at Tsinghua University, THUISA regularly holds programs and events in the fields of Education, Arts, Culture, Sports to provide opportunities for students and the community, while helping increase dialogue between Indonesia and China.

In the celebration of The 75th Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia, THUISA hosted its virtual webinar called "THUISA TALKS" on 22nd August 2020.

THUISA TALKS discussed The Potential of Indonesian Students in China to Build the New Normal Era of Indonesia. In partnership with the Indonesian Students Association in PRC, the webinar was attended by hundreds of students.

THUISA TALKS invited three international figures who have great knowledge and deep relationship in China and Indonesia. The distinguished speakers are:
1. DR. Mochtar Riady, Founder and Chairman of Lippo Group who also founded the Tsinghua University's Mochtar Riady Library
2. Adi Harsono Chief Executive of the Indonesian Chinese Alumni Association (PERHATI)
3. Dino R. Kusnadi. Deputy Chief of Mission representing The Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to the People's Republic of China and Mongolia

In Tsinghua University's spirit of "Self-Discipline and Social Commitment", THUISA launched a donation for Educators/Teachers in Indonesia affected by COVID-19. This donation was carried out in partnership with APHI PGRI (Indonesian Educators and Homeschooling Association of the Indonesian Teachers Union).

THUISA TALKS was hosted and moderated by The President of THUISA, Ruth Kirana. Ruth is an awardee of the Indonesian Ministry of Communication and Informatics (MCI) Master Scholarship and is a Master of Public Administration in International Development (MID) candidate of Tsinghua University's School of Public Policy and Management.
