Send wishes from landmarks around the world

Interactive activities organized for alumni at home and abroad to check in and send wishes from landmark buildings

Tsinghua University will celebrate its 110th anniversary. To fully commemorate the University’s 110 years of success and help create a festive environment leading up to the anniversary day, we welcome our alumni at home and abroad to send their best wishes and blessings to their alma mater from one of the well-known landmarks in the area you live in.

Contents:

  1. Video

    Should you wish to submit a video, find a safe filming location with a landmark as a backdrop. Your video should be on the theme of the 110th anniversary of the alma mater. Feel free to show your creativity, hold props or read from a greeting card. You can record your message in any language (The use of local languages is encouraged). Feel free to show your creativity in the video. (Please refer to appendix 1 for shooting requirements, and appendix 2 for video script reference)



  2. Photo

    Should you wish to submit a wishes photo, please find a safe location with landmark as a backdrop. Feel free to hold props or read from a greeting card. The message on your greeting card should reflect the theme of the 110th anniversary of the alma mater. You can write your message in any language (The use of local languages is encouraged). Please submit your photo(s) in a file format such as JPEG. It is recommended that you keep the long side pixels of your photo(s) no less than 3,000px.

    Please name the file in the format of "Alumni Organization Name + Contact Information" or "Individual Name + Grade + Department + Contact Information" and send it to110zf@tsinghua.org.cn. If you wish to share more information, you can include it in your email.

    Appendix one: Video shooting requirements 

  • Video duration: No more than 100 seconds.

  • Please try to choose soft light conditions for shooting scenes to avoid strong light; avoid shooting under backlight or sidelight conditions. Please use the rear camera for mobile phone shooting.

  • The video should have clear image quality.



  • The voice of the character needs to be loud and clear, and try to use a pickup microphone to minimize noise interference if possible. While recording, please pause after each sentence for a few seconds so that it is easy for editing.



  • You can use a video camera, SLR camera, or mobile phone to shoot; Remember to hold your mobile phone horizontally. The output format of the video should be MOV (mobile phone format), MP4, MPG, AVI or other common mainstream formats, with a 16:9 video aspect ratio. High-definition video (with 1920×1080 resolution) in MP4 format is recommended.



  • Copyright: All the submitted videos and photos will be authorized to Tsinghua University. The University could edit the videos and use them publicly. Please ensure that the video content can be edited. The edited video clips will be released on various platforms, including the anniversary live broadcast, the anniversary website and the University’official social media accounts.

Appendix two: Video script sample

  • Wishes from individual:“Hello everybody, I am XX from the class of XXXX. I wish my alma mater a happy birthday on its 110th anniversary from XX, XX kilometers away from Tsinghua! Wish you greater success in the future…”


  • Collective wishes:
“Strive for Excellence, Innovate for the Future! We are XX, wishingTsinghua a happy birthday on its 110th anniversary from XX, XX kilometers away from Tsinghua! We wish Tsinghua continues to prosper…”
