Professor Johann-Dietrich Woerner, president of TU Darmstadt, recently paid his first visit to Tsinghua University. Professor Gong Ke met him and his delegation on behalf of Tsinghua.

TU Darmstadt, of Germany, and Tsinghua University are both members of CLUSTER- Consortium Linking Universities of Science and Technology for Education and Research.  After Tsinghua jointed the network in May 2005, more collaboration links were built between Tsinghua and prestigious engineering universities in Europe.

A research project on “Global Engineering” will be launched in October, involving TU Darmstadt, Tsinghua and six other universities.
