Dr. Helmut Panke , Chairman of the board of BMW came to Tsinghua and gave a speech to the students on November 8. Titled as “ China is a key market of BMW”, the speech was about the trend of automobile technology and the development of BMW in China .

In his speech, Dr. Panke talked about both the BMW's worldwide stratagem and the specific goals in China . “A company should only do what's best and better than others.” He argued and justified his view with the description of BMW's growing trace. He particularly emphasized the importance of developing edge-cutting technology in the increasingly intensified competition in automobile market. Dr. Panke predicted that China would be one of the biggest markets of BMW in the future. He said BMW was willing to work closely with the universities and other institutions in China to advance the development of automobile technologies.

During the speech Dr. Panke mentioned “exciting” for many times and promising that BMW will always make exciting cars for customers.

After the speech, Dr. Panke answered the questions raised by seated students.
