The 8 th National Conference on Commnication Studies was held in Tsinghua university from 23 to 24, October. More than 150 scholars and postgraduate students from a wide range of universities in China and more than 20 distinguished oversea professors from universities in North America , Europe and Asia participated the meeting.

The theme for this conference is Integration and Innovation, which reflect the latest tendency and requirements of communication studies. During the two-day event, a couple of important issues including the localization of communication study, the new trend of journalism and communication education, the combination of communication studies and the journalism practice, international and intercultural communication, media industry and media management, new media and their impact on societies, media and economic globalization, crisis/risk communication/management etc., were discussed and debated.

The National Conference on Communication Studies is a biennially organized conference. This is the most important academic gathering for the scholars in the field in China . It's the first time that the conference was held in Tsinghua University . School of Journalism and Communication, Tsinghua University and the Institute of Journalism and Communication, Chinese Academe of Social Sciences, co-sponsored and co-organized the conference.
