Prof. Linda Koch Lorimer, Vice President and Secretary of Yale University, visited Tsinghua on September 11. Tsinghua Vice President Gong Ke met and had a friendly talk with Prof. Lorimer.
Vice President Gong introduced the history of Tsinghua University, the students’ research training program, the English summer camp held for the freshmen of 2003, Tsinghua’s cooperation with other universities, and so on. They talked about the cooperation of Tsinghua and Yale University in the fields of environment, management, and law, and exchanged ideas on possible collaborations.
After the talk, Prof. Lorimer visited the University Library.
Prof. Lorimer is Vice President and Secretary of Yale University. She is the officer responsible for an array of institutional functions, ranging from corporate governance to external affairs (public affairs, international activities, and alumni relations). She has served as a member of the Yale Corporation, President of the board of the American Association of Colleges and Universities (an association of over 600 institutions of higher education), and she was a member of the board of the National Association of Theological Schools.
