——Tsinghua Vice-President Visited Cornell
Soon after the high-rank delegation of Cornell University led by Prof. Lehman, President of Cornell, visited Tsinghua on June 30, Tsinghua vice-president, Prof. Gong Ke, visited Cornell on Aug. 22, to promote the establishment of strategic collaboration between Tsinghua and Cornell.
In Ithaca, NY, Prof. Lehman and Prof. Gong had agreed to develop strategic collaboration, centered at high quality students training, and further agreed to start this collaboration in selected engineering areas by means of joint graduate program, faculty exchange, students summer program, etc.
Prof. Gong had also met Prof. Fuchs, Dean of Cornell’s College of Engineering. While exchanged the information of the development of engineering education and research in both universities, they also discussed the areas of possible collaboration, such as advanced materials and nano-devices, energy and environmental studies, biomedical engineering, computer and communication as well as complex networks.
