CEO of Australian Vice-Chancellors’ Committee Visits Tsinghua

Mr. John Mullarvey, Chief Executive Officer of Australian Vice-Chancellors’ Committee (AVCC), visited Tsinghua on August 24. Tsinghua President Gu Binglin met and had a friendly talk with Mr. Mullarvey.

During their talks, President Gu and Mr. Mullarvey exchanged ideas on students, fund raising, and so on.

The organization that ultimately became the Australian Vice-Chancellors’ Committee was formed at a conference in May 1920 of Australia’s then six universities. Current AVCC membership comprises the Vice-Chancellors of 38 Australian universities (37 public universities and 1 private university). The AVCC seeks to advance higher education through voluntary, cooperative and coordinated action. Its continuing aim is to serve the best interests of the universities and, through them, the nation.
