A closing ceremony was held in the Reporting Hall of the Department of Biological Science and Biotechnology on June 18 to celebrate the success of twenty undergraduate students from Faculty of Medicine in the University of Hong Kong in their studies in Tsinghua University. President of the Beijing Huaxin Hospital Chen Mingzhe and Vice President of School of Medicine Zhao Nanming attended the ceremony and awarded the certificates to the students.
The twenty students from Hong Kong worked on a Special Studies Module in School of Medicine in Tsinghua University from June 7 to June 18. The program which is supported by “Cheng Yu Tung Visiting Fellowships”, is part of the activities between School of Medicine in Tsinghua University and Faculty of Medicine in the University of Hong Kong in 2004.
During the two-week study, the students learned mandarin, which is used in the daily life, basic medicine and clinical medicine and participated in a clinic in the Beijing Huaxin Hospital.
It was the first time for the students from Faculty of Medicine in the University of Hong Kong to work on a Special Studies Module in Tsinghua.
