(Tsinghua News Center) Tsinghua faculty who were recipients of state teaching and research awards in 2002 and 2003 were honored at a ceremony April 6.

University leaders attending the ceremony included President Gu Binglin, University Council President Chen Xi, He Jiankun, Zhang Zaixing, Zhuang Lijun, Kang Kejun, Wang Jinsong and Zhang Fengchang.

Commendations covered both teaching and research. Among the most prestigious awards, given by the state were for Outstanding Teacher, Outstanding Curriculum, Outstanding PhD. Dissertation Supervisor, and the Science and Technology Award.

Professor Yuan Si, from Department of Civil Engineering, and Professor Gao Wenhuan, from Department of Engineering Mechanics spoke at the ceremony as the representatives of the award recipients.
