A paper written by Tsinghua doctoral student Zhu Hongwei of the department of Mechanical Engineering was published in the May 3 issue of top-rated Science magazine, published in the U.S.
In "Direct Synthesis of long single-walled Carbon Nanotube Strands," Zhu and his mentor, Professor Wu Dehai, discussed how they synthesized the first 20 centimeter-long single-walled Carbon Nanotube strands (SWNTs), becoming the first researchers in the world to complete the process.
