The 2023 RoboCup China Open came to a close in Jinjiang city, East China's Fujian province, on Oct 15. Securing the runner-up position and claiming first place among domestic teams, Tsinghua's TH-MOS robot soccer team attained its best performance in their team's history over the past decade.
RoboCup is the most influential and highest-level robot competition worldwide. This event serves as the China Zone competition for the international series.
The TH-MOS robot soccer team, established by Tsinghua's Department of Mechanical Engineering in 2004, is affiliated with Tsinghua's future robotics group. After many years of succession, the current team consists of over 20 undergraduate and graduate students from departments such as Mechanical Engineering, Automation, and Computer Science. This is the eighth-generation robot that the team have developed. The team's best achievement prior to this was a fourth-place finish at the RoboCup 2023 in Bordeaux, France.
